Don’t make your hair the thing you wish you could go back and change. Plus, your hair is in every photo you will be in… close or far shots. So, let’s begin with the biggest debate of all dirty or clean hair. That would really depend on the stylist and the hair that they are working with. My suggestion is to call your salon and see what they recommend. Our salon policy is to come in with clean and 100% dry hair. It is always easier as well as faster to “dirty” the hair then to make it clean again. Another option is to come in the day of or day before to have your hair washed, dried and styled. This will give the stylist the opportunity to create the perfect canvas to work with. Plus, as a bonus gives you time to relax a little more. Also, I would highly recommend a trial run. It allows you and your stylist to work out any concerns there may be. There are salons that put it in their bridal contracts. Bridal contracts generally will list pricing, policies, timing and whether they allow and/or provide beverages or food into their building. 

Wedding trends 

1. Loose styles have a soft romantic appeal to them. They would also be a great option for people who want their hair all up but not tight.
2. Sleek is a classic and timeless look. You simply can’t go         wrong.  
3. Yes, ponytails! They aren’t just for the gym. They are fun, pretty and sturdy. 
4. Accessories have been one of the biggest trends I have noticed. They add a little extra detail to your updo and can tie your outfit together head to toe.

I am sure you saw a pattern as you were reading that. If you did raise your hand a lot and have healthy hair you are an anomaly. However, it is safe to say that for the rest of us we have unhealthy, frizzy/fuzzy, or possibly difficult to style hair. Generally speaking, wear and tear impacts the outer layer of hair. Whereas chemical services effect the inner layer**. It’s a lot easier to prevent damage then it is to reverse it. That is why we love Aveda’s Damage Remedy line. It helps to combat environmental, physical, and chemical damage. The main ingredient is a protein called quinoa which helps to strengthen the hair strand. It also has naturally derived oils to boost your natural hairs defense system. In the line there is a shampoo and conditioner for everyday use. The Intensive Restructuring Treatment which is a deep conditioning masque which replaces your everyday conditioner. Daily Hair Repair, a multi-use product, is a great heat protectant (super important). Split End Repair will help to smooth down the cuticle, add protein, and help prevent future split ends. However, if the ends of your hair start to look like a witch’s broom the only true way to fix your hair is a good old fashion haircut.
 
**Interesting fact… Some people have 2 layers to their hair where some have 3 layers. What?! Yes, everyone has a cuticle which is the outer layer. Then we all have a cortex, but some also have a medulla. No, not the medulla oblongata. Generally, a person who has the medulla layer has thick and/or dark hair.
